My dreams for the Middle East
Two nights ago, I sat with my personal diary at 3AM in the morning thinking to myself, 'Why did I ever stop writing? Why did I ever let go of my passion?'
So I picked up my pen, and let what was in my heart transform into words on a paper.
I don't know if you can call it 'poetry', but to me, it is.
Enjoy..
(Disclaimer: I do not label myself as a feminist. I am a humanitarian who believes in equality for ALL.)

Forever dreaming of the day where a womans value is not defined by her virginity, just like men.

~ My dreams for the Middle East ~
Forever dreaming of the day where women are treated equally to men.
Forever dreaming of the day where a womans value is not defined by her virginity, just like men.
Forever dreaming of the day where a woman can choose to pursue a career she wants with confidence and without fear, just like men.
Forever dreaming of the day where women do not have to feel obliged to live with a toxic man because their culture shames divorce.
Forever dreaming of the day where women are not controlled by their so-called "loving" husbands.
Forever dreaming of the day where every single father encourages their daughter that they do not need a man, and they can be independent and strong on their own, and if at any point she feels the need of a man she can turn to her father - just like I have and always will.
Forever dreaming of the day where women are not afraid or ashamed of talking about rape or sexual abuse. In the same way, I will forever dream of the day where men can comfortably discuss their rape and sexual abuse issues too without feeling that it makes them less of a man.
Forever dreaming of the day where voicing my own opinion as a woman is not frowned upon by middle eastern cultures.
Forever dreaming of equality.
